Club Casita

Welcome to Club Casita, a modern retreat in Christchurch, perfect for families and friends seeking comfort and adventure. Created by Candice and Dan, these hand-crafted lodges offer a unique blend of tranquillity and homey charm.

Picture this: you’re gently cruising along the River Stour on a boat or paddle board, winding through uninterrupted views of the surrounding nature. Perhaps your family or friends are laughing around you, maybe your dog is balanced precariously in front, or you may have taken a moment of peace all for yourself. You arrive at your own private landing and disembark to your stylish yet homely riverside cabin. It has the tranquillity and picturesque views of a wilderness retreat, but the comfort and convenience of a home away from home. You are at Club Casita.

Club Casita, formerly known as Boatyard Stays, is a selection of riverside lodges in the heart of Christchurch created by go-getting couple Candice and Dan. The rebrand to Club Casita is fresh and fun, reflecting their suitability for young families and groups of friends for a modern take on riverside retreats. Candice and Dan have hand-crafted each of their charming cabins and the heart and hustle they have poured into this oasis really shows. Each cabin is riverside with beautiful views and a private slipway to launch and land a boat or paddleboard. With free bikes and SUPs available on site and pubs and shops only walking (or boating) distance away, Club Casita offers stress-free, family and pet-friendly holidays with every convenience and comfort you need, all whilst retaining a sense of adventure.

What is most impressive about Club Casita is Candice and Dan themselves, with their resourcefulness, energy and attention to detail making their holiday homes a real success. After both taking redundancy from their former workplace they grafted their way into the holiday letting business, starting with lets in Bournemouth and Weymouth before growing this latest, exciting venture. Their experience in hosting and creating beautiful stays shines through at Club Casita. Each cabin is designed to rustic perfection, complete with antique ores on display, vintage prints and curated selections of books and decor all sourced and upcycled locally from vintage stores, charity shops and local emporiums. The pair have also impressively upskilled, learning plumbing and carpentry and doing the decorating and design themselves. Their honesty about the hard work involved and their willingness to roll up their sleeves is refreshing, and it’s inspiring to see these young Dorset locals investing in something special that enhances and celebrates the area.

Even as Candice and Dan show Pier Journal around their cabins, they are fussing over the finer details of the finished cabins and proudly showing the progress they have made on the sites still under development. Their love and care for this place is evident and this attentiveness extends to all their guests, who are always given personal recommendations for exploring the area and directed towards the other local businesses in the Christchurch community.

These two have big plans for this slice of paradise, with hopes to introduce cold plunge pools, food trucks, café carts, and to create an outdoor space to host events, pop-ups, and yoga classes. With their obvious tenacity, and how much they have achieved so far, Club Casita is undoubtedly one to watch!

They still have some availability for this year, so book directly for the best deals and experience this idyllic riverside retreat for yourself.
