Foundry

In a world that's constantly evolving, so too are the ways we work. As the concept of workspaces shifts to accommodate the changing dynamics of the professional landscape, flexible and collaborative environments have become a driving force behind innovation and connection. One such example is FOUNDRY, a dynamic coworking space nestled within the heart of Poole's vibrant community. Join us for an insightful conversation with founder Adam Walker, as we explore how FOUNDRY Poole is shaping the future of work in Poole and beyond.

Hi Adam! Can you give us an introduction to FOUNDRY Poole?

FOUNDRY Poole is a coworking space offering creatives, startups and established businesses a place to call home. We are inside The Dolphin, in the old job centre building and have renovated the space to include private offices, a coworking lounge, meeting rooms and more. It’s a place for businesses in Poole to connect and grow their community with a range of events.

For too long Poole has been in Bournemouth’s shadow and we are excited to invest in a town that has a warm and friendly business community.

In recent years we have seen a dramatic shift in the way we work. How important is a flexible workspace to the creative industry?

It’s so important. The way we work has changed since the pandemic, or been expedited. There is more flexibility, you can really work from anywhere, the pandemic proved that. But what is hard to re-create online is community.

Bumping into people whilst making a coffee cannot be done online. A chance conversation whilst passing reception cannot be done online. Creatives, like everyone else, need a space in Poole to connect and collaborate. Somewhere that’s your living room sofa for five days per week. That’s what FOUNDRY in Poole is.

There is something nice about ‘going’ to a workplace. Leaving your house, walking to FOUNDRY then working with other creatives is a chance to have separation between your home and place of work.

Plus there are private soundproof booths for video calls, exceptional local coffee and super fast wifi. You can also bring in your (well-behaved) furry friend.

Why should we choose to work at FOUNDRY?

Because it’s exciting. There are familiar faces you will see everyday like the awesome FOUNDRY Poole team of Ema and Esraa, then there are always new faces. We encourage you to connect with other members whilst here. The facilities we offer are also great, wifi is included, printing available and all for an affordable price.

What is the future of FOUNDRY?

We currently have two FOUNDRY sites, one in Eastbourne, East Sussex and then in Poole. We are opening a third site in London, and we would love to continue to expand. Offering multiple FOUNDRY locations allows our members in Poole to visit London and have a space to work, and anywhere else.

For FOUNDRY in Poole, we will be hosting more events and announcing local business partnerships in the future.
