June sees the start of the folk festival season, and one of the biggest is the famous free Wessex Folk Festival, held on the harbourside in Weymouth. ‘Warm up’ sessions kick off the weekend in the harbourside pubs Friday afternoon, with two stages at the festival proper - the main stage in Hope Square, and the Harbourside Stage itself. Both will feature a great selection of acts - many local - throughout the weekend, plus Morris dancing, musical workshops, and plenty of trade stalls for you to enjoy.
