The Mysterious Bookcase is a new bookish brand, created by Bournemouth locals Matt and Ally. They began on Etsy, but since then they’ve appeared at pop-up markets all over the South Coast. The Mysterious Bookcase specialises in a ‘blind date with a book’; an experience that involves the reader selecting a genre, without knowing the author or title of the book. The concept encourages readers to expand their literary horizons by selecting a book they might not have otherwise chosen. It can also be a fun way to introduce readers to new books or to challenge them to read outside of their comfort zone. The book packages are beautifully wrapped and decorated, and come complete with chocolate, tea and a bookmark. This makes it the perfect gift for that book lover in your life, and takes the pressure away from having to pick a book they would enjoy.
